The first question every screenwriter asks about an AI tool is fair: what happens to my script? Here is the plain answer. No enterprise jargon, no promises we can't keep.
Your uploaded screenplay is used for one thing — producing your Cold Eye coverage — and then it is deleted automatically, the instant the report is rendered. We keep your coverage so you can re-download it; we do not keep your source screenplay. In the rare case an automated deletion doesn't complete, the file is removed within 30 days at the latest, and you can ask us to delete it immediately at any time.
We do not use your screenplay to train any AI model — not ours, and not a third party's. The analysis runs through Anthropic's API under their commercial data-handling terms, which exclude API submissions from model training. Your script is read to write your notes, and for nothing else.
Every connection is forced over HTTPS and encrypted in transit with TLS. While your script is briefly held during processing, it is encrypted at rest with AES-256 by our storage provider — and, per guarantee #1, it isn't held past that. We store no passwords, because Cold Eye has no accounts to break into.
The coverage we write is yours. Share it, paste it into your notes, post it publicly — we retain no rights in it. Full terms are in our Terms of Service and the complete data details are in our Privacy Policy.
Cold Eye is a focused tool for individual screenwriters, not an enterprise platform. We are not SOC 2 certified, we don't run a formal penetration-testing program, and we don't offer single sign-on or team audit logs — those are things studios and agencies need, and if you're a studio evaluating us for a slate, write to us and we'll talk about what you require. For a working writer sending us one script, the three guarantees above are the ones that matter, and we mean them.
